Welcome to Ale Yeah! Adventures

If you had told me before 2014 that I’d someday be planning trips around craft breweries, I probably wouldn’t have believed you. Back then, I was a pretty typical beer drinker—Bud Light, domestics, whatever was available. Nothing wrong with that at all. I still love my Miller Lite with olives, and I won’t pass up an ice-cold Ham. But when I moved to Sioux Falls, South Dakota, I stumbled into a craft beer scene that completely changed my perspective.

At the time, several local breweries were making a name for themselves downtown, and I found myself wanting to try everything they were putting on tap. What really hooked me wasn’t just the beer itself—it was the creativity behind it. Brewers were constantly experimenting with different hops, ingredients, and flavor combinations, creating beers that were unlike anything I’d tasted before.

The more I explored, the more I realized that every beer seemed to have a story. Maybe it was inspired by a local legend, a favorite memory, a unique ingredient, or simply a brewer’s passion for trying something new. I loved hearing those stories almost as much as I loved drinking the beer.

Around the same time, my wife and I were feeding another passion of ours: travel. We love getting out and exploring new places, whether that’s hiking a trail, wandering through a new city, or finding a great local brewery. Over the years, we’ve traveled all over the country—from Hawaii and the Oregon Coast to the Outer Banks of North Carolina, Cincinnati, Omaha, and beyond.

Now when we plan a trip, one of the first things we look up is the local brewery scene. We want to know where the hidden gems are, what’s unique to that area, and what stories we might discover along the way. Some of our favorite travel memories have started with a simple question: “Is there a good brewery nearby?”

That’s what Ale Yeah! Adventures is all about. It’s a place where I can share the breweries we’ve visited, the beers we’ve enjoyed, the places we’ve explored, and the stories we’ve collected along the way.
